Every Woman\u2019s Life (EWL<\/span><\/b>) is a public health program that\u202f<\/span>helps uninsured, low income women gain access to free breast and cervical cancer screening services<\/span><\/b>. Screening and early detection reduces death rates, improves treatment options, and greatly increases survival.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

To be eligible<\/span><\/b>, women must be\u202f<\/span>a Virginia resident<\/span><\/b>\u202fbetween the<\/span>\u202fages of 18-64<\/span><\/b>,\u202f<\/span>meet federal income guidelines and be uninsured.<\/span><\/b>\u202f Women 18-39 must be symptomatic or be determined to be high risk for breast and\/or cervical cancer to be eligible.\u202f Services provided by the program include a clinical breast exam, mammogram, pelvic exam, Pap test, and any diagnostics needed to reach a final diagnosis.\u202f If a woman enrolled in EWL is diagnosed with breast or cervical cancer she may be eligible for Medicaid to pay for treatment.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
